Harvie Alfred Bull, D.D.S., 88, of 101 Clyde Morris Blvd., Ormond Beach, passed away December 29, 2009.
Dr. Bull was a graduate of Solvay High School, Solvay, NY and a 1943 graduate of Hobart College, Geneva, NY, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy. He served in the United States Army Air Force as a fighter pilot during World War II. He graduated from the University of Buffalo School of Dentistry in 1954.
Upon earning his D.D.S. degree, he was given the commission of first lieutenant in the Navy and served a one-year internship at the Public Health Hospital, Staten Island, NY. After his internship, Dr. Bull established his dental practice in North Syracuse, NY. He retired from private practice in 1982. Dr. Bull was a member of the Onondaga County Dental Society, Dental Society Study Club, University of Buffalo Alumni Association and Ormond Beach American Legion Post #267.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Doris Elizabeth Bull Spier, in 1995. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Joan Mary Bull, sons David Arthur Bull, (Peggy), Thomas Harvie Bull, Sr., (Maryann), all of Ormond Beach; his sister, Georgia Gartland-Hoke of Syracuse; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 11:00 AM at Ormond-in-the-Pines, 101 Clyde Morris Blvd., Ormond Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: VITAS Hospice, 533 N. Nova Rd. Suite 206, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
